Progesterone

Progesterone is a hormone which is produced by the ruptured follicle after Ovulation. At this stage the follicle is called the Corpus Luteum. (Hence the name Luteal phase for this part of the cycle). Progesterone prepares the lining of the uterus for implantation. If implantation occurs the level of Progesterone continues to rise. If not, the levels of Progesterone decrease and as a result the lining is shed, marking the start of a new cycle.

  • Your Progesterone blood test should be performed 7 days post Ovulation or 7 days before the start of your next cycle.

Order the Kit and keep it at home. Perform the blood test on the correct Day of your cycle and get an accurate result.

Vitamin D

Vit D

Vitamin D is essential for healthy Sperm and Eggs. Despite its name, vitamin D is not a regular vitamin. It's actually a steroid hormone that you are designed to obtain primarily through sun exposure, not via your diet. Many people in Ireland are deficient in Vitamin D and up to half of all couples experiencing difficulty conceiving have been shown to have low Vitamin D levels.

Low Vitamin D  levels are relatively easy to correct with the right supplementation. Check your levels before planning a pregnancy to ensure that you optimise your chances of success.

Symptoms of low Vitamin D include tiredness, lethargy, low mood, aches and pains.

The Vitamin D test can be taken on any Day of your cycle.

Following the test you will be advised how to increase your Vitamin D level if you are found to be deficient.

 Pregnancy Blood Test (B-HCG)

In 85% of normal pregnancies, the B-hCG level will double every 48-72 hours.

Order the Kit and keep it at home . Perform the blood test just before your next period is due and get an accurate result to confirm if you are pregnant.
